The songwriters
Genius credits four writers. Two are the performers. The others are the producer and Livvi Franc, born Olivia Waithe, a Barbadian British singer-songwriter whose Wikipedia page also lists “Ready for the Ride” among her writing credits. Her earlier work includes songs for Rihanna, Britney Spears and Coldplay, so the song brought a pop songwriter into a dancehall duet.
We could not find published percentage splits, so we have not guessed who wrote which part. If a performing rights society listing appears with different names, we will update this page.
The producer: Scribz Riley
Scribz Riley, real name Michael Orabiyi, is a producer and songwriter from East London. According to Wikipedia, his credits include Cardi B’s “Ring”, songs on Khalid’s American Teen and Free Spirit, and work for H.E.R. and Chris Brown. The release announcement called him a two-time Grammy winner, pointing to his work on Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy, which won Best Rap Album.
His beat is what gives the song its crossover sound: a dancehall bassline with Afrobeats and R&B touches over reggaeton-style drums, as described in the announcement. That makes it a clear change from the production team behind the pair’s first duet (see below).
The labels: Dutty Rock Productions and Milk & Honey
Dutty Rock Productions is Sean Paul’s own imprint. The single is licensed to Milk & Honey Records, a label that Los Angeles management company Milk & Honey launched in October 2025. Music Business Worldwide reported that it is distributed through The Orchard and launched with a promise to give songwriters a share of master royalties. Apple Music shows Sean Paul had already used the same arrangement for “Faith We A Keep” in December 2025.

How the credits compare with ‘Stay With Me’
The contrast with their first duet is clear. “Stay With Me” came out on 30 August 2024 on Stalk Ashley’s album Stalky the Bratt through Stalk Ashley Music and Zojak World Wide. Its label-supplied credits name Jaxx, Dunw3ll and MXSSIVH as producers, with Dunw3ll on the mix and Ron Ruff mastering. In short, the first song was built by her own production circle for her album. The second was released on his imprint and label partner, with a London producer.
What is not public yet
- Mixing and mastering engineers for “Ready for the Ride” do not appear on Apple Music, Genius or in the release materials we checked.
- Where it was recorded: Genius lists Jamaica, but that field is user-edited and we could not confirm it elsewhere.
