How it happened

No living artist has carried dancehall further than Sean Paul — the Grammy-winning Kingston legend whose Dutty Rock era put the genre on every radio on earth. So when he appeared on Stalk Ashley’s debut album in 2024, it read as a passing of the torch. When he came back for a second round in 2026, it read as a partnership.

“Stay With Me” (2024): the introduction

Track 10 on Stalky the Bratt (released August 30, 2024 via Stalk Ashley Music/Zojak World Wide), “Stay With Me” paired her sultriest register with Sean Paul’s unmistakable bounce. Vibe called it “a dreamy duet” with “major crossover potential”, and the Jamaica Star later credited it with helping introduce her to the global dancehall arena. Behind the boards: MXSSIVH, the Montego Bay producer who threads through her whole catalogue.

“Ready for the Ride” (2026): lightning twice

Released February 27, 2026 through Sean Paul’s Dutty Rock Production and Milk & Honey Records, “Ready for the Ride” was produced by Scribz Riley — the London producer with two Grammys for his work on Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy — with a video directed by Kieran Khan that V13 called “cinematic, vibrant, and organic”. The record keeps a driving dancehall bassline while folding in Afrobeats and R&B colours over reggaeton-leaning drums.

“It’s lightning striking twice,” was how the Jamaica Star framed the reunion — the first record explored intimacy and vulnerability, the sequel is about two artists moving forward as full creative partners, trading call-and-response instead of mentor-and-student verses. The timing didn’t hurt either: the single landed as Sean Paul opened a European headline tour playing to a projected 250,000-plus fans across France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany.
