The bouyon crossover — a Jamaican dancehall voice on a Dominican riddim, on the remix of “Put That On That”.

Bouyon is Dominica’s own party music — faster and heavier than dancehall, built on drum patterns that have spread across the Eastern Caribbean and, in the last few years, well beyond it. Khallion, who bills himself as “Di Bouyon Rockstar”, released “Put That On That” in July 2024, and it became the song his name travels on.
The remix arrived on 13 June 2025, released through KhallioNation Records with a Stalk Ashley verse on it. She shared it the next day and has kept it pinned to the top of her Instagram since — the only post on her profile that stays put while everything else scrolls past. It is the one record in her catalogue that is not dancehall, R&B or a fusion of the two: it is her stepping onto another island’s riddim entirely.
Bouyon has spent the last few years pushing outward from Dominica, and collaborations with dancehall artists are how that crossover usually happens. Khallion’s own catalogue shows the same instinct — he has a record with Jamaica’s Konshens — and the Stalk Ashley remix put a Kingston voice on his biggest song at the moment it was travelling furthest.
“Put That On That” is nominated for Bouyon Song of the Year at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, according to WIC News, in an edition where Dominican artists dominate the bouyon categories. Stalk Ashley is nominated at the same ceremony in two of her own categories — see our guide to the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, which takes place on 19 September 2026 in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Khallion is a bouyon artist from Dominica who performs as “Di Bouyon Rockstar”. He works both sides of the Caribbean—diaspora circuit, playing Dominica and US bouyon events, and releases through his own KhallioNation Records.
