- The deal. The video opens at a luxurious mansion, where Alkaline and the boss, Mad Max, close what is framed as their last transaction. Max is visibly unhappy with how it went; Alkaline leaves grinning.
- The glance. On his way out, Alkaline notices Max’s daughter, played by Stalk Ashley. The two don’t connect in that first moment.
- The pull. As the song unfolds, the pair keep drifting towards each other despite the obvious risk of crossing a man like her father.
- The link-up. Eventually they give in and get together, which is exactly the kind of off-limits meeting the song describes.
The FADER summed up Ashley’s role as a femme fatale in a tense mafia face-off, with both leads throwing caution to the wind. It’s a smart visual translation: the song is about a relationship that has to stay hidden, and the video raises the stakes by making discovery genuinely dangerous.
Why a mafia concept?
Stalk Ashley has said the appeal of “Incognito” lies in the hint of danger around a relationship you shouldn’t be in. A gangster plot is the most direct way to dramatise that risk on screen. It also plays to both artists’ strengths: Ashley gets a glamorous, in-control character, and Alkaline gets a cool, confident role as the outsider who shouldn’t be looking.
